Privacy Policy
The short version: MeetDash has no account, no analytics and no server. The app never connects to the internet. It reads your calendar on your Mac and keeps it there. This website sets no cookies and does not track you; it only counts page views with Cloudflare’s cookieless Web Analytics. The rest of this page is the long version required by law.

We are the controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the processing described here. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to do so.
2. The MeetDash app
2.1 What the app does with your data
MeetDash shows your next meeting in the menu bar, reminds you before it starts and opens the meeting link when you ask it to. All of this happens locally on your Mac:
- Calendar events are read through the macOS calendar framework (EventKit) from the calendar accounts already set up on your Mac — for today and, if enabled, tomorrow. The app uses the title, start and end time, calendar, your attendance status, and the URL, location and notes fields (to find the meeting link). This data is held in memory only while the app runs; nothing is copied, stored elsewhere or transmitted. MeetDash never creates, edits or deletes events.
- Reminders are scheduled as local macOS notifications on your Mac. They contain the meeting title and start time and are handled entirely by macOS. Nothing is sent through any push-notification service.
- Joining a meeting opens the link from your invitation with the app or browser that macOS uses for that kind of link (for example Zoom, Microsoft Teams, FaceTime or your default browser). From that moment the privacy policy of the respective service applies. MeetDash passes on nothing but the link itself, and only when you click or press the shortcut.
- Settings (which calendars to show, filters, reminder lead time, shortcut on or off, menu bar options) are stored in the app’s preferences on your Mac.
The app has no network capability of its own. It does not transmit calendar data, usage statistics, crash reports, device identifiers or anything else to us or to third parties. We have no server that could receive such data. Consequently we process no personal data of yours through the app, and there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete.
2.2 System permissions
- Calendars. macOS requires this permission for any app that reads calendar events. MeetDash asks for it on first launch and uses it only to read the events described above. You can revoke the permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars; the app then shows no meetings.
- Notifications. Needed only for the optional reminders. You can switch reminders off in the app or in System Settings → Notifications.
- Open at login. If you enable it, macOS starts MeetDash when you log in. This uses the standard macOS login-item mechanism and can be changed in the app or in System Settings → General → Login Items.
- Sandbox. The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox, as every Mac App Store app does. It has no access to your files and no entitlement to use the network.
2.3 Purchase through the Mac App Store
MeetDash is sold exclusively through Apple’s Mac App Store. Apple processes your purchase, payment details and Apple Account; we receive only anonymous, aggregated sales statistics from Apple and no information that identifies you. Apple’s privacy policy applies to the purchase: apple.com/legal/privacy. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your Apple Account settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymised usage figures (e.g. number of installations); these cannot be traced back to you.
3. This website (meetdash.de)
3.1 Hosting and server logs
The website is a static site hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). When you visit the site, Cloudflare’s servers automatically process the data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system. Cloudflare uses this data to deliver the site quickly and securely and to detect and fend off attacks; it retains request logs for a short period. We ourselves do not evaluate these logs on a personal level.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website. Cloudflare may process data in the United States; safeguards are the EU standard contractual clauses in Cloudflare’s data processing addendum and Cloudflare’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Details: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
3.2 Visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
To see how many people visit the site and which pages they read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service of our host Cloudflare (see 3.1). Each page loads a small script from Cloudflare’s server (static.cloudflareinsights.com), which reports the visit to Cloudflare: the page address, the referring page, browser and operating system, screen size, country and how fast the page loaded. Your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare as part of that connection. The script sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not recognise you across visits or across other websites; we only see aggregated figures, never data about individual visitors.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, how the website is used, so we can improve it. You can object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR); blocking the domain cloudflareinsights.com, for example with a content blocker, prevents the statistics entirely. Processing in the United States is covered by the same safeguards as described in 3.1.
3.3 Cookies and embedded content
This website sets no cookies, loads no fonts from third-party servers and, apart from the statistics script described above, no scripts from other servers, and embeds no content from other sites. Your choice of light or dark mode is remembered in your own browser’s local storage and never reaches us.
3.4 Links to the Mac App Store and other sites
The download buttons link to Apple’s Mac App Store, and the legal pages link to a few external sites. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of that site applies. No data is passed to any of them by merely viewing this page.
4. Contacting us by e-mail
If you write to us, we process your e-mail address, the content of your message and any details you include in order to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual or contractual communication) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). We keep such correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and thereafter only where statutory retention periods require it. Our mail is handled by our e-mail provider on our behalf.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15),
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16),
- have your data erased (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18),
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21), and
- withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)).
To exercise these rights, e-mail wm@tathros.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany — datenschutz.hessen.de. You may also contact the authority in the EU member state where you live or work.
6. Data security
This website is delivered exclusively over HTTPS. Because the app processes everything locally and the website stores nothing on your device and keeps no data about individual visitors, the attack surface for your personal data is as small as we can make it.
7. Children
Neither the app nor this website is directed at children under 16, and we knowingly collect no data from them. Purchases in the Mac App Store are subject to Apple’s age requirements.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the app or the website changes in a way that affects your data — for example, if a future version were to add an online feature. The current version is always available at meetdash.de/privacy; the date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
